John Rainey has featured a collection of sculptures, prints and editions focusing on digital interactions with the human form. Rainey’s signature approach uses these mediums to explore the themes of technology, artifice and the human figure. Through the use of ceramic casting and three-dimensional printing technologies, Rainey’s sculptures present the plasticity of digital culture. Though normally thought of as something intangible, the impact of digital medias on our physical processes and experiences is immediately felt in Rainey’s art. References to, and deviations from, classical aesthetics link his works to a continuous line in the discourse of art.
