Orjen Djuric was born in 1987 in Zagreb, Croatia, in an artistic family. Djuric's grandfather was a sculptor who worked with stone, and his father is a painter. Djuric finished high school for woodcutting, and during that period he was heavily involved in street art. He studied animation at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Serbia. During his studies, Djuric was mostly working on the design of characters for cartoons.
After graduation, Djuric found a new interest for sculpting and changes his medium. The majority of materials he uses for his art are toys and objects created by mass industrial manufacturing, which he recycles through incorporation into his works.
Djuric experiments with new materials and techniques, placing an accent on the exploration of the form and texture, and their synthesis.
Instead of working on the question of meaning, he rather evokes the question of “who we really are”, with the use of a universal language.
He has showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Serbia and the wider region.
Djuric continues to live and create in Belgrade.
