Spring Fruits is a series of large digital photomontages by Colin Darke which refer to the Paris Commune of 1871. Relevant texts (from or about the Commune) are cut into apples. This refers to the still-life paintings of apples made by Gustave Courbet whilst in prison for his part in the Commune. The works are photo-printed and mounted on dibond. Although printed, each work is a unique piece which will not be remade.
