Matteo Vinti is a multimedia artist who explores the interaction of space with his audio-visual representation. Employing code-generated visuals, he develops multiple contemporaneity and expands the concept of image-charged spaces. Since 2012, in his international exhibitions in Museums and Cultural Art Centres, Vinti has been creating site-specific installation works with which he transforms the everyday landscape by adding subtly data's intervention. Vinti’s landscape works in particular explore the relationship between embodiment and emotional memories. Vinti cites sensing diverse influences — from Kafka, to that of Francis Bacon — in his distortion of life and the visual. For Vinti, new combinations are distilled from both consciously constructed and subsequently discovered meanings in the works. The artist notes that ever since his childhood, he had found a fascination with the endless oscillation of meaning, something he pursues to present to the viewer in his practice. We find that temporal forms of the world are distorted through diverse and modern artistic forms and practices, leaving the viewer with an insight into new possibilities in our digital culture.
